Rules about price gaps
A gap is when a share opens at a different price from the day before. From 9 October the Strategy Agent can test rules that buy on one.
What you can ask. A gap up or down by a set amount: "buy NVDA when it gaps up 2%". A full gap, where the share opens above the whole of the previous day's range, or below it. And a stop below the gap, which sells on the first later close back under it.
How it is timed. The rule reads the day's opening price and buys at that same day's closing price. The result says so. A test buys at a daily close: it cannot buy at the open or during the day, so someone who bought at the open would have got a different price.
A gap in the share that is bought. A gap is read on the share the rule buys, against its own previous day. A gap "in the market", or in another share, is not run as if it were the share's own. The agent says which part it cannot read, runs nothing, and offers what does run.
A test describes the past. It is not a forecast and it is not advice.
