Release note

New accounts get their trial tokens, and search engines can find us

The day after the move to the new server we worked through the problems a first-time visitor would hit, starting with signing up.

Trial tokens for every new account. Signing up with Google didn't create a token wallet, so new users saw "Couldn't load wallet" on the dashboard and the strategy agent stayed locked behind the paywall. Every new account now gets 100 free trial tokens the first time you sign in, whichever way you signed up. The grant happens once per account, and it never touches an account that already has a wallet.

The agents work on the new server. Two pieces of set-up data were missing from the new database, so starting a strategy agent session failed with "Agent template not found" and every research question failed with "Research token rate not configured". Both are in place. The backend also wasn't being handed the settings it needs to reach our AI model and our market and economic data providers, which the strategy classifier, deep research and macro data depend on. That's fixed too.

Easier to find in search. Search engines had only picked up our home, sign-in and registration pages. We added a sitemap and a robots.txt file, and gave the public pages (home, pricing, about, the Education Centre articles and the rest) proper titles and descriptions, so a search result says what the page is about. The signed-in parts of the app and password reset links are deliberately kept out of search results.

We also fixed a batch of security issues on the same day. They're covered in Security fixes from an audit of sign-in, accounts and data access.

Update, 29 September 2026: from 27 September the free trial was 1,000 tokens; trials granted before then keep their 100 tokens. From 29 September new accounts get 500 free tokens once their email address is verified; accounts that already had a trial keep their tokens. See our 29 September entry. From 4 October 2026 the trial is 1,000 tokens.
